Pirated VCDs and Their Subtitles
it can be really entertaining watching pirated vcds sometimes.
a drama can turn into a comedy i tell you, provided you read the subtitles,of course.
i just watched eight below recently, from a pirated vcd.
have wanted to watch it since few months back, but as usual...
no one will ever be interested in the movies i want to watch.
for example : gubra, anything involving dogs and horror movies.
so what to do...buy pirated version or download lor...
anyway, this eight below is about how 8 siberian huskies made it on their own in a snow storm for more than 3 months without their owner. supposed to be a very touching movie, but thanks to the subtitles, i was laughing through the 1st half of it, till finally i gave up and decided to ignore those amusing translations.
so here are some of the translations for your entertainment purposes :
1. Cooper ( a guy's name), i missed you - Serkup, saya terbebas anda
2. No, I'm fine - Tidak, saya mendenda
3. Good Jack (the name of the dog) - Kebaikan Jack
4. We were doing some catching up - Kita baru saja mengejar
5. Oh, man - Oh, lelaki
6. We copy you (conversation through some device) - Kita salinan anda
7. Over and out (conversation through that thing again) - Lebih dan keluar
8. I'll take that - Saya akan mengambil bahawa
9. You scared the hell out of me - Anda takut neraka luar dari saya
10. You hang in there - Anda tergantung dalam sana
11. I just fed them - Saya hanya makan mereka
12. No, that's out of the question - Tidak, bahawa keluar soalan
13. We'll see you - Kita akan menyaksikan anda
But the best one was...
Sewa adalah jalan.
after some time only i managed to find out that it meant 'let's go'
i was wondering how the hell can someone translate let's go to sewa adalah jalan?
the smart pming figured it out :
change let's go to let is go
let = sewa
is = adalah
go = jalan
hence, sewa adalah jalan.
another 2 examples with the word sewa :
Let's go out - Sewa adalah pergi luar
Let's get ready to pull out of here - sewa adalah bersedia untuk menarik dari sini.
and i still remember one funny translation i saw in the Harry Potter movie :
Bloody dragon - naga yang berlumuran darah
i bet those people translate word by word from the dictionary.
